Darwin Thurman Crain
Darwin Thurman Crain of Mount Pleasant, Texas passed away Friday August 1, 2014 at the age of 90 years. He was born May 24, 1924 in Sikes Louisiana, the son of Alvin A. and Geneva Alberta (Sikes) Crain.
Darwin served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant where he served as a Deacon; he was also a member of the American Legion, DAV-VFW, Temple Masonic Lodge, and the Texas Baptist Disaster Team, an Eagle Scout, 4-H Leader and Woo’s (Wise Old Owls). He was employed by Republic Supply as a sales manager.
He leaves his children, William Bryant and his wife Shirley of Mount Pleasant and Shelia Jane and her husband Tommy Smith of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle Gillespie, Beau Smith, Nikki Hein, Brent Smith, Holley Cobb and Will Crain; great grandchildren, Peyton, Presty and Keaton Hein, Jaden Brown, Jett Cobb, Kayla and Kash Gillespie, Vivienne and Sylas Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Alice Crain.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Monday August 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. Interment will follow at the Nevills Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:30 to 6:30 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.
