D. J. Anders Sr. Funeral Today At Winnsboro

WINNSBORO (Special) -- D. J. Anders Sr., 87, district attorney of Franklin and Richland Parishes from 1930 - 36 and a local attorney for many years until his illness several months ago, died in a Winnsboro hospital Saturday.

A resident of Winnsboro for the past 39 years, he was a member of both the Fifth District Bar Association and the Louisiana Bar Association

Mr. Anders was for 18 years a member of the Democratic Central Committee and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Winnsboro.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with the Revs. M. D. Felder and Clarence Young officiating. Burial will be at Myrtle Memorial Cemetery here.

Survivors include two sons, Harry N. Anders and D. J. Anders Jr., both of Winnsboro; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Edgar Lowry, Carl Fritz, Bernard Byargeon, James Kiper, Atha Stephens, Edwin D. Walters, James Mays and Rudolph McIntyre.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fifth District Bar Association.
