David Lawrence Dies; Funeral Conducted Today

Funeral services for David Lawrence, retired farmer, were slated to be held at 2 p.m. in the Start Baptist Church Tuesday under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Interment was to follow in the new Start Cemetery.

Mr. Lawrence, 79, resided at 412 Bawcom street, West Monroe, at the time of his death early Monday morning.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary L. Lawrence, West Monroe; two sons, Bernell and Loyd Lawrence, both of West Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Crissler Cannon of Mangham, Mrs. Henry Ross, Rayville, Mrs. Homer Moore, Monroe; three brothers, Henry and Ben Lawrence, both of West Monroe, and George Lawrence, Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Bell Parker of Sikes and Mrs. Adaline Young, Columbia; two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Clayton Lawrence, Oscar Lawrence, J. W. Temple, Bill Temple, Jimmy Hoben and Ernest Kennedy.
