OIL CITY, LA - Funeral services for Mr. David Emmons, 77, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Potters House in Vivian, LA with the pastor Rev. C.V. Holley officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Oil City, LA. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McGuire Funeral Home.
Mr. Emmons, a retired Caddo oil company pumper for 47 years service, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Grace Home in Shreveport. He was a resident of Oil City since 1948 an was a member of Potters House Church in Vivian, LA. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Emmons; step-daughter, Debbie Lee and half-sister, Virginia Batts.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jean Emmons of Oil City, LA; son, Bobby Emmons and wife Sharon of Oil City, LA; step-son, Jay Henderson and wife Debbie of Mt. Olive, NC; daughter, Brenda Crosby of Florida; step-daughter, Flo Richard of Bossier City, LA; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
