TWO BEAUMONT PERSONS KILLED

Youth, Woman Expires After Traffic Mishaps

BEAUMONT, Aug 25. -- Two Beaumont residents were dead today, victims of traffic accidents.

Mrs. Magdalene Matilda Ley, 61, died last night at a hospital after she was struck on Highland avenue by an automobile driven by Lewis Edward Sheffield, Beaumont man. Sheffield collapsed after the accident and was unconscious more than an hour, Witnesses said. Mrs. Ley stepped from a curb and in front of the auto.

David Vallee, 19, former South Park football player, succumbed at a hospital at Jennings, La., as the result of a crushed chest and other hurts suffered when a trailer, being carried on his truck, fell on him on a highway near Jennings. The youth was the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Vallee of Beaumont.
