David Timmerman Gaar, Sr.
Mr. David Timmerman Gaar, Sr., age 67 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Northwestern Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Born Thursday, July 8, 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Willie Gaar and the late Velma Lee Watts Gaar.
Mr. Gaar served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vicki (Jordan) Gaar, of Winnfield, La., son, David Timmerman Gaar, Jr., of Lake Charles, LA, daughter, Jennifer Gaar Romero and husband Mathew, of Baton Rouge, LA, son, Brian Christopher Gaar, of Shreveport, LA, and daughter, Stephanie Geree Gaar, of Lake Charles, LA, along with one granddaughter and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Big Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Calvin Phelps and Rev. Leonard Free officiating. Interment will be in Jordan Hill Cemetery, near Winnfield, LA.
Fred Flurry, Colvin Garrett, Tommy Harrel, Richard Heard, Benny Long, and Carroll Varnell will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield.
