Davie Whitten
Funeral services for Davie Whitten, 59, of Start were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Mulhearn's Funeral Home in Rayville with the Rev. Pete Medak officiating.
Burial was in the Start Cemetery.
He was a member of the Rayville Moose Lodge and a member of the Crew Lake United Methodist Church.
Mr. Whitten died Saturday, January 24, 1976 at St. Francis Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emily Whitten of Start; four sons, Tom (Sonny) Whitten of Lakewood, N.J.; Joe Whitten of Houston, Tex., Freddie Whitten of Start, and Mickey Whitten of Rayville; four daughters, Mrs. J.D. McHenry, Jr. of Monroe, Mrs. Bill Bruce of Mangham, Mrs. Bobby Weatherford of Abilene, Tex., and Mrs. Jerry Bartleson of Winnsboro; four brothers, Billy Whitten of Start, Namon Whitten of Raymond, Miss., Damon Whitten of West Monroe and Lillian Whitten of Start; four sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Hollingsworth of Bastrop, Mrs. Vera Davis of Start, Mrs. Floss Schwartz of Start and Mrs. Bobbie Hollingsworth of West Monroe; twelve grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Robert Johnston, W.G. Taylor, Sidney Eppinette, David Ray Davis, Charles Davis, Jerry Robinson, Bentley Curry and Buddy Reddick.
