Mrs. Cumberland Interred Friday In Smith County

Funeral services for Mrs. Deaney Lucy Cumberland, 42, of Morton, were held Friday, February 10, at 10:00 a.m., from Lorena Baptist Church in Smith County with Rev. G. B. Henderson officiating. Interment followed in the Lorena Cemetery with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Cumberland passed away in her home on Wednesday morning following a short illness. She was a native of Smith County but had lived in Morton for the past three and one half years. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and employed with the Pelahatchie Poultry Plant.

The survivors are her husband, Jesse Cumberland; three daughters, Misses Linda Fay, Lillie and Louise Boykin all of Morton, five sons, Hobart, Ruben, Bob, and Wendell Boykin all of Morton, and Bill Boykin of Montgomery, Ala.; two brothers, Mitchell Barrett of Houston, Texas, and Sherman Barrett of Montgomery, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
