DELIA R. LEWIS
Delia Reed Crain Lewis, 84, died on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Medical Center of South Arkansas after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 10, 1924, in Standard, La. She was the daughter of Henry Allen and Serenia Adelia Reed. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of Wyatt Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, HJ (Short) Crain; her second husband, JC Lewis; a granddaughter Rhonda Lynn Franklin and a grandson Patrick Crain; four sisters, Juanita Miller, Jacquelyn Bares, Tommie Gearheard and Jean Bradford; a daughter-in-law, Sue Bearden Crain and a son-in-law, Rusty Jones.
Survivors include three sons, Jack (Lea) Crain of Sikes, La., Jerry (Janet) Crain of Katy, Texas, and Steve (Mickey) Crain of Hot Springs, and one daughter, Rita Jones of El Dorado; grandchildren Jason Crain of Sikes, Kelly Crain of Katy, Michelle Black, Chad and Brooke Jones, all of El Dorado, Rob Crain of Austin, Texas, and Justin Crain of Las Vegas, Nev.; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
She loved to quilt and her creations will be enjoyed for generations. She was an avid fisherwoman and thought there was nothing better than ``dropping a line'' and catching a crappie.
Her family will miss her quiet strength, gentle demeanor and loving nature.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Perry's Funeral Chapel in El Dorado with the Revs. Adam Thomas and Donny Hymer officiating. Burial will be in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Sikes at 3 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 tonight.
