Hester Funeral Is Today at 6

Funeral services for Mrs. Della Bailey Hester, 86, of 5218 33rd street, Groves, will be held tonight at 6 o'clock in the Levingston Funeral home chapel. Dr. Donald Potts, pastor of the First Baptist church of Groves, will officiate.

Mrs. Hester died Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Cresthaven Nursing Residence in Groves where she had resided the past five months. She had been in ill health for five months and had previously resided with a son, D. W. Hester of Groves.

Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery at Hopewell, La., Tuesday at 10 a.m. with graveside rites. She will be buried beside her husband, W. T. (Bill) Hester, who died June 14, 1966.

A native of Calcasieu parish, La., Mrs. Hester had lived in the Port Arthur-Groves area for 37 years. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Groves.

Survivors are one other son, D. M. Hester of Port Arthur; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Austin, Mrs. Ola Mahaffey and Mrs. Lou Ella Miers, all of DeRidder, two brothers, Abie and Albert Bailey, both of DeRidder; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hester's Rites Are Held

Graveside rites for Mrs. Della Bailey Hester, 86, of 5218 33rd street, Groves, were held today at 10 a.m. in the Hopewell cemetery at Hopewell, La., under direction of the Levingston Funeral home.

Pallbearers were Sonny Hester, H. R. Stewart, Doyle Hester, Jr., Gary Hester, Joe D. Spikes and Clyde Caldwell.

Mrs. Hester, a 37-year resident of the Port Arthur-Groves area, died Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in Cresthaven Nursing home in Groves following an illness of five months.

Survivors not previously listed are two daughters, Mrs. R. R. Steward of Port Arthur and Mrs. O. D. Powell of Groves.
