The funeral of Miss Sarah Della Brooks, 92, of the old Ward 5 community were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home here with the Rev. Harry Burns officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Miss Brooks died Tuesday evening in Columbia Heights Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include several cousins.
Pallbearers were Andrew Morris, Lee Braddock, J. T. Ford, Floyd “Slim” Hodges, Lance Arthurs and Ben Clark.
