Dalton McCarty

Funeral services for Dalton McCarty, 64, of Winnsboro, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Don Bush and the Rev. Fr. Daniel Corkery officiating.

He was a veteran of World War II, where he was awarded seven Battle Stars. He was a native of Winnsboro and formerly of Monroe and Natchez. He died on Feb. 22, 1987, following a lengthy illness.

Survivors include three daughters, Pam Smith and Maureen Ryals, both of Natchitoches and Chris Heilman, Wichita, Kans.; one brother, Dana G. McCarty, Bend, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Hugh Smith, Melissa Smith, Greg Smith, Brandi Miller, Colin Miller, Lynn Anne Ryals, and Aaron Mac Ryals.

Pallbearers were Charlie Svetlecic, A. G. Harper, Charles Quimby, George Ineichen, Lou Jenkins, James Beavers.

Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Griffin and Cliff Lord.
