Rites Set Today for Dennis Bihm

PORT BARRE -- Funeral services for Dennis James Bihm, 80, of Port Barre, were to be held at 2 p.m. today at the Methodist Church in Port Barre. Burial will follow in the lower Waxia cemetery under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home of Opelousas. Military rituals will be conducted at the graveside.

Bihm died at 2 p.m. Sunday at Opelousas General Hospital following an illness of two weeks. He was a saw mill operator and farmer.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Maringouin for more than 50 years, a veteran of World War I and a member of Opelousas American Legion Post 45.

Survivors are three brothers, Theo and Hugh Bihm, both of Port Barre, and Ralph Bihm of Orange, Tex.; and three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Bihm of Port Barre, Mrs. Hilda Guidry [sic Guidroz] of Opelousas and Mrs. Annie Jackson of Batchelor.
