Visitation for Dewanna Emmons, 71, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. A procession will begin at 1:45 PM to the graveside services at 2:00 P.M. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA with Brother Rick Crandall officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Ms. Emmons was born May 10, 1937 in Monroe, Louisiana to Willie Marion and Melba Reeves Emmons. Ms. Emmons has been a resident of West Monroe since 1937; and a member of McClendon Baptist Church of West Monroe for several years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Willie Cowart of West Des Moines, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Emmett McDaniel of Monroe, Louisiana; son, Burt Book of West Monroe, Louisiana; and daughter-in-law, Kori Book of Lexington, North Carolina and six wonderful grandchildren, Jessica Cowart of Chicago, Illinois, Justin Cowart of West Des Moines, Iowa, Aaron McDaniel, Zachary McDaniel, and Samuel McDaniel of Monroe, Louisiana, and Alexis Book of Lexington, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Janice Poulos of Crowville, Louisiana; two very special sisters-in-law, Glee Froboese of Abita Springs, Louisiana and Alice Book of Alexandria, Louisiana; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Our sincere appreciation for all the calls, cards, prayers, and visits with Ms. Emmons during her illness.
