Dewey D. Arender rites are conducted

RALEIGH -- Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Raleigh for Dewey D. Arender, 72, of Raleigh, who died Sunday at Jasper County Hospital.

The Rev. Charles Bryant, the Rev. Hurshel Thorton and the Rev. Robert Perry officiated. Interment was in North Raleigh with Smith County Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mable Arender of Raleigh; three daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Huff of Pelahatchie and Mrs. Undean Thompson and Mrs. Nadean Harrison, both of Raleigh; five sons, Dewitt and Bobbie Arender, both of Taylorsville, Earnest Arender of Vancleave and Harold and George Arender, both of Raleigh; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Taylor of Texarkana, Texas, and Mrs. Sallie May of Ovett; two brothers, Amos and Villos Arender, both of Raleigh; 21 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
