EDISON, New Jersey -- Dick George Brewer, 54, of Fords, New Jersey, a former resident of Pine Bluff, died at a hospital here Saturday. He was a mechanical engineer for Lockheed Electronics at Plainfield.
He was born and reared at Pine Bluff, a son of the late George B. and Elizabeth Rice Brewer. He was a flight instructor at Grider Field at Pine Bluff during World War II.
He was a deacon in the Rayarton Valley Baptist Church in Edison. He was a member of the Tulsa (Oklahoma) Masonic Lodge 71 and was active in the Boy Scouts of America at Fords.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Greenwood Brewer; two sons, David Brewer and Glenn Brewer, both at Fords; a daughter, Ann Brewer, a student at State College of Arkansas at Conway; and his stepmother, Mrs. Eula Fikes Brewer of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ralph Robinson & Son Mortuary in Pine Bluff by Reverend Elmo Thomasson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Durham, G. D. Long, C. O. Howard, D. A. Hercher, John E. Cook, Loy Gardner, R. D. Welch and Oscar Corder.
The family will be at the W. H. Greenwood residence at 7704 Dollarway Road, Pine Bluff.
