Dixie L. Shelor
Dixie L. Shelor, 86, of Hot Springs died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008. She was born Jan. 22, 1922, to the late Tinnie Freeman Lusk and Thomas Grady Lusk, in Liberty, Miss. Mrs. Shelor was a homemaker and a member of Piney Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Clarence G. Shelor, and two brothers, Jasper Lusk and Floyd Lusk.
Survivors include two sons, retired Col. Dan Shelor, of Moore, S.C., and Jim (Joyce) Shelor, of Hot Springs; one daughter, Janice (Fritz) Washburn, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; one brother, Leo Eugene Lusk, of Liberty, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Shelor, Kevin (Cassie) Shelor, Alison Washburn, Megan (Josh) Green, Jason Shelor, Brad Rusher and Lisa Evans; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Piney Baptist Church, 3150 Albert Pike Road. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Piney Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Catcher officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Lee and Lucille Bardwell, Ruby Kellar, Dodie and Jeanie Trunkenbolz, Cathy Cantwell, Freddie Meyers, Linda Morrison, Floyd and Judy Hughbanks, Travis Bishop, Danny Moore, Mary Green, members of Piney Baptist Church, staff of Hot Springs Funeral Home and staff of Arkansas Hospice Inpatient.
