Dixie Gray
A funeral service for Dixie Gray, age 83 of Maydelle, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Friday, March 24, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. James Blaylock officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Maydelle.
Mrs. Gray passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 in Tyler.
Dixie was born August 31, 1933 in San Augustine, Texas to Claude and Laura (Emmons) Hightower.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maydelle and worked as a customer service representative at Walmart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Gray; son, Edward Fielder; a daughter, Laura Hood; and a grandson, Aaron Langston.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Melinda Gray of Maydelle; sisters, Janice Gilman of Pasadena and Bonnie McBroom of Rusk. She is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dale Hightower, Donnie McBroom, David McBroom, Daniel Hightower, Robert Rogers and Jeremy Gray.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 23, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
