Mrs. Docia Emmons

Mrs. Docia Emmons, 81, of 5145 Eighth street, died Friday at 5:15 p.m. in the Golden Triangle Nursing home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Grammier-Oberle 39th Street Funeral home chapel. Cled Wimbish of Procter Street Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Memorial park of Port Neches.

A native of Center, Mrs. Emmons had lived in Port Arthur 27 years. She was a member of Procter Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include five sons, Travis Emmons of Port Arthur, Gilbert Emmons of Nederland, Jewel Emmons of Victoria, Hugh Emmons of Rosenberg and Roy Emmons of Houston; three brothers, Jake and Frank Birdwell [sic Bridwell], both of Center, and Otto Birdwell [sic Bridwell] of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Leggett of Wharton, and Mrs. Ada Jarry of Center; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be T. L. Hammond, Curtis Savage, Kenneth Savage, Walter Emmons, David P. Sasak and Ronald Ducote.
