Dollie Ruth Fountain
MONTICELLO -- Dollie Ruth Fountain, 90, a mother, homemaker and retired owner and operator of the Florida Motel, gas station, mobile-home park and restaurant, died Friday, April 14, 2006, in Tallahassee. Services will be at 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday at Beggs Funeral Home Monticello Chapel (850-997-5612). Interment will follow at Roseland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. EDT Monday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308-5428 or First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 493, Monticello, FL 32345.
Dollie was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was a Worthy Grand Matron Order of Eastern Star chapter 116, Grand Ruth Order of Eastern Star for the state, and president PTA Jefferson County. Dollie was a member of First Baptist Church in Monticello.
Dollie is survived by three sons, Robert L. Fountain III (and Jeanette) of Monticello, Terry Fountain (and Bo) of Tallahassee and Jack W. Fountain (and Gloria) of Live Oak; a sister, Flora Jacobs of Renton, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Fountain Jr.
