DON ALLEN
GREENSBORO -Don Allen, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at Moses Cone Hospital. He was a much loved husband and father.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Reverend J. Love officiating and Dr. Rick Bird assisting. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Don was born in Dothan, Alabama on October 24, 1915, to the late Calvin A. and Beatrice Ware Allen. He was a longtime member and a deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a plant manager with Stoller Chemical Company until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, C. Douglas Allen.
Surviving Mr. Allen are his wife of 68 years, Hazel McCarty Allen of the home; daughters, Linda A. Turner and husband, Freddie of Waverly Hall, Ga., Frances A. Moseley and husband, Jim and Nancy A. Davis and husband, Jerry all of Greensboro; sister, Evelyn A. Lopez of Portsmouth, Ohio.; six grandchildren, Scott and David Fairbairn, Don, Erin and Brian Moseley and Justin Davis; and seven great-grandchildren.
The Allen family will receive friends from 7 until 9 this evening at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Chapel.
