Don O. Willis

Services for Dr. Don O. Willis will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tracy Arnold and the Rev. Fred Flurry officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, under direction of Hixson Bros.

Willis, 65, of Alexandria died at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

He was a dental surgeon and practicing orthodontist for 35 years in Alexandria. A native of Kelly, he graduated from Louisiana Tech, Ruston, and received his doctor of dental surgery degree from Baylor Dental School in Dallas, Texas.

Willis was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Louisiana State Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was a member and past president of the Rapides Parish Dental Society.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Batchelor Willis of Alexandria; one son, Donnie R. Willis of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Charlotte W. Scallan of Pineville; one brother, R. R. “Buddy” Willis of Jonesville; one son [sic sister], Elaine W. Weldon of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call until noon today in the funeral home and after 1 p.m. today in the church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.

Pallbearers will be Robert Batchelor, Roger Willis, Geoff Willis, Andy Czubak, Lee Willis, Ronnie Cowart and Dick Scallan.
