DONALD C. WADE
Donald C. Wade, age 75, of Austin, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010. He was born February 21, 1935 to Jesse E. and Gladys D. Wade in Abilene, Texas. Donald was raised in the Church of Christ. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He taught science in high school for several years, then worked as an insurance claims adjuster and manager for companies in Beaumont and Austin. For many years afterward, he was owner of Central Texas Claims Service in Round Rock. He was a loyal husband and father, whose word was his bond. He taught his family these values by example. He also taught them forgiveness. Donald shared many of his interests and hobbies with his children, such as hunting, saltwater fishing, coin collecting, and baseball. As a Little League and Pony League coach, he treated all players with fairness and impartiality, and would encourage them to “just hit the ball - the home runs will come.”
