Dr. McCarty Dies In Jackson

Dr. Donald H. McCarty, 62, Laurel dentist, died unexpectedly Thursday morning in a Jackson hospital.

He was in Capital City visiting relatives when he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.

A native of Magee, he had been a resident of Laurel since 1948 when he opened his office here. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, a Mason, Shriner, Mississippi Dental Association and a former member of the Lions Club.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 p.m. at Memory Chapel with Dr. J. W. Leggett Jr. and the Rev. M. F. Lytle officiating. Burial will be in Magee Cemetery.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Emily Bradford McCarty, Laurel; mother, Mrs. Virdue McCarty, Magee; and one brother, Dr. G. A. McCarty of Jackson.

Pallbearers will be the following cousins, James Allen Thomas, Donald Thomas, Capt. Jerry Thomas, J. C. McCarty, Joe McCarty and Theron Davis.
