KELLY, DONALD R. ``DON''
A retired Exxon Co. USA pipe fitter with 40 years of service and a resident of Zachary, he died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, March 15, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was a native of Pride and a former longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He was 71 and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Pius Catholic Church, 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Jon C. Koehler. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by his wife, Carol Woods Kelly of Zachary; three daughters, Sharon Cowart of Bayou Pigeon, Annette Kelly of Denham Springs and Yvonne Kelly of Gonzales; two sons, Gordon Kelly of Denham Springs and Donald Earl Kelly of Greensburg; five sisters, Myrtle Choate of Gonzales, Charlene Peairs of Zachary, Virgie Sibley of Pride, Carol Brashier of Pride and Bonnie Blades of Gloster, Miss.; a brother, Kenneth Kelly of Zachary; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Belle Baker Kelly; two sisters, Ginger Kelly and Dorothy Kyles; and two brothers, Alphonse and Clifton Kelly.
He was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church and Ushers Society, and Knights of Columbus St. Pius Council No. 6531.
