Don Maurer
Donald Lee Maurer, 57, of Idaho Falls, died Dec. 14, 1999, of a sudden heart attack in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he has been working recently.
He was born Jan. 19, 1942, at Chicago, Ill., to Jess Franklin Maurer and Anita Pauline Flammini Maurer. He attended St. Mary's School in Chicago, then graduated from La Habra High School in La Habra, Calif. From 1959 to 1963 he served with the U. S. Air Force.
He was married and divorced. He worked as a business analyst and computer programmer for the INDUS Group.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood-working, and was a real outdoorsman.
Don was a great dad, grandpa, and good friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his two sons, Douglas Lee Maurer of Overguuard [sic Overgaard], Ariz., and David Lee Maurer of Idaho Falls; a daughter, Deanna Cornwall of Pocatello; a sister, Linda Browne of Arlington, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls, with Pastor John Robinson of the Gate City Christian Church officiating. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday for one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans' Team.
