Donald Ray Crum
(April 16, 1951 - January 6, 2014)

Donald Ray Crum, age 62 of Winnsboro, LA passed from this life on January 6,2014 at the Franklin Parish Medical Center in Winnsboro following an extended illness. Mr. Crum was born on April 16, 1951 at Winnsboro to the union of his parents Clinton Evon Crum and Fannie Pauline Hedgepeth Crum. He is preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Ronald Crum. Donald had served in law enforcement for many years and was last employed at LCS Correctional Center in Clarks, LA. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, and will be missed greatly by his family and by those who knew and loved him. He was also an avid sportsman , and especially loved squirrel hunting, and his passion was such that he could have been called “The Squirrel Commander”. He was also a gunsmith and inventer and could do and build almost anything.

Survivors include: His son: Daniel Clinton Crum and fiancee' Angelle Gotreaux of Iota, LA, his daughter: Tonya Crum Burns and husband Wes of Grayson, his step son: Bradley Phillips and wife Rachel and children of Eros, LA; his brother: Tim Crum and wife Abbie of Vicksburg, MS; his sisters: Merlie Atcheson and husband Edward, who had been such a special brother-in-law, of Winnsboro, Betty Atcheson and husband David of Tallulah, Delia Stowe and husband Luke of Mangham, Brenda Gomez of Walker, LA, Theresa Borne of Gonzales, and Cindy Borne of Gonzales. He also is survived by his grandchildren: Amber, Hannah, Brantley, and Cody; and his nieces and nephews who were so special to Donald.

A memorial service is secheduled for 2:00 pm Friday January 10, 2014 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Columbia, with Rev. Eric Harriman and Rev. Bo Harris officiating.
