Donald Wayne Beal
Donald Wayne Beal, passed away on his 87th birthday, Friday, June 19, 2009, surrounded by family members. He was born on June 19, 1922, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, to Henry Robert Beal and Irene Bullock.
Donald was a long-time resident of Baytown, Texas, having settled there after WWII. He served 1943-1945 in the Army Air Corp, 800th Air Service Group, during D-Day's Campaign, and the Northern France and Rhineland invasions. Don began his career in the auto paint and body business and retired from Keating Ford in Crosby.
Don married and reared two children, while serving his Lord and enjoying past times of hunting and fishing with his brothers and favorite uncles. His passion in life, however, was his love of music, mainly Country and Blue Grass. Don was a capable musician with guitar, fiddle, mandolin and harmonica. He so loved ``jammin' '' with family and in-laws.
Left to cherish his memory, are daughter, Donna Cary and husband Michael; daughter and loving care-giver, Kathy Freeman; grandson, Life Robinson; sister, Ruth Henderson and sisters-in-law, Bobbie Beal, Beverly Beal, Pauline Fagala, not to mention many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces.
Preceded in Don's death is his wife, Reba Templeton Beal of 54 years; sisters, Edwina Bonjo, Louise Hebron and Doris Harris Benner; and brothers, Robert Beal, Morgan Beal and Raymond Beal.
The Beal family wishes to thank care-givers, Betty Aguilar and Dorothy Maxey, for their love and compassion during Don's hospice care. Many thanks also to the staff of Hospice Compassus for their care and service.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 22, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Fagala, Joey Beal, Life Robinson, Paul Nichols, Gary Bird and Mike Cary.
