RUSS

DONNA L. COOLEY RUSS, a Houston resident for 59 yrs., passed peacefully onto the hands of her Lord on March 11, 2006, after a hard fought battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma wife her family and friends were at her side. Donna was born May 10, 1927 to Charles and Lettie Cooley in DeRidder, Louisiana. Donna married the love of her life, Gordon T. Russ, on October 18, 1947. Donna and Gordon celebrated 58 yrs. of devotion and had two children. The family matriarch, Donna had a generous heart, witty humor, tender hands and broad shoulders for family and friends to lean on. She was a 50-yr member of Melrose O.E.S. and Daughters of the Nile. Though a successful businesswoman, she always found time to be part of her children's lives from serving in Little Leagues, PTAs, and attending every child's activities. Donna made the Russ home a haven for all. She will be missed everyday, but never forgotten as her legacy of love and compassion is instilled in all who knew her.

Donna will be greatly missed by her husband Gordon, daughter Debbie, son Mike and daughter-in-law Renee, granddaughter Taryn M. Ross, and great-granddaughter Corrina, sister Marie Anderson, her brother Rev. C.E. Cooley Jr. and numerous family & friends.

The family expresses special gratitude to ``New Caney Bunch''- Marilyn, Carolyn, Henrietta and Addie- for their boundless love and devotion. The family will receive visitors Tuesday March 14, 2006 from 6-8 PM. Services will be held Wednesday at 3 PM. Officiating Rev. George L. Glass, Jr. Interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
