Donnis Whittington
Donnis Oralee Whittington, 87, of Jackson, La., died March 23, 2003, at her home.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster. The Rev. Bryan Bixler will officiate and burial is in Whittington Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
Mrs. Whittington was born Aug. 14, 1915, the daughter of Louis Hastings and Effie Nettles Hastings.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, S.J. Whittington; one son, Robert Brown; one daughter, Pauline Cousin; son-in-law,Alvin Cousin; three brothers, Grady, Ervin and John Hastings and one sister, Lily May Hastings.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Elon Causey of Baker, La., Alma Hurst and Burnice and Kenneth Leggett, all of Jackson, and Judy and Davis Lioret of Blairsville, Ga.; one son and daughter-in-law, Everett Whittington and Maxine Cagle of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, LaVonne Brown of Wakefield, La.; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
