Doris Ann Hightower
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Ann Hightower, 76 of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Hightower and Rev. Cliff Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hightower died November 29, 2010 in Tyler, Texas.
Mrs. Doris Ann Hightower was born August 1, 1934 in Carthage, Texas. Ann was the third of six children born to the marriage of Harry William and Carrie Lee Hightower Spradley. She was raised and schooled in Panola County graduating from Beckville High School with the class of 1952. Mrs. Hightower met and later married Marvin J. Hightower and celebrated many years together until his death on August 27, 2009. Ann was a homemaker and a good athlete who loved to play volleyball and dominoes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, James Doyle Spradley.
Mrs. Hightower is survived by her four sons, Tony, Jimmy, William and wife Debbie and Mark; brothers, Royce Spradley and Benny Spradley; sisters, Bobbie Jones and Jenny Francia; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marty Stewart, Greg Spradley, Jerry Hightower, Richard Reed, Wayne Hightower and Justin Spradley.
The Family requests that memorials may be made to the Antioch Cemetery Association, 1936 FM 2517, Carthage, Texas 75633.
