DORIS CHRISTINE BARRETT

Doris Christine Barrett, 78, of Laurel, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Union Line Cemetery in Soso. The Revs. Donnie Parker and William Gary Smith will officiate.

A Baptist, she was employed with U.S. Plywood for 20 years, Doris Tanner's Florist for nine years and in commercial construction for three years.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy L. Plisco and Marilyn Plisco of Laurel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene Hill and Jimmy Hill of Sandersville and Dana James and Glen James of Pearl River, La.; five grandchildren, Faydra Christine “Cristy” Plisco, Justin Lewis, Tasha Bishop, Derek James and Virgie P. Chance; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Hamilton, Tony Johnson, Will Bishop, Justin Lewis, Jimmy Hill and Glen James.

Visitation will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. today, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
