Doris Glenn Hargrove
TUSCALOOSA -- Doris Glenn Hargrove, age 91, of Tuscaloosa, died May 13, 2009, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home in Columbus, Miss. with Rev. Ron McDougal officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Gunter & Peel Funeral Home of Columbus, Miss. directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hargrove was born Oct. 9, 1917 in Hattiesburg, Miss. to the late Frank Sexton and Louise Byrd Glenn. She was a resident of Pine Valley Independent Living of Tuscaloosa and enjoyed playing bridge.
Mrs. Hargrove was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Hargrove Dove; brother, Bobby Glenn; and parents, Frank Sexton and Louise Byrd Glenn.
Survivors include her husband, Allen S. Hargrove, Jr. of Tuscaloosa; her grandchildren, Allen Dove of Rickreall, Ore. and Gena Dehner of Orlando, Fla.; her nephews, Bob (Shirley) Glenn of Mobile, Ala. and Lt. Col. Frank (Laurie) Glenn of San Antonio, Texas; her niece, Becky (George) Boone of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and sister-in-law, Weezie Glenn Phillips of Hattiesburg, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Riggie Dove, Chad Dehner, Bob Glenn, Allen Dove, Geoff Glen, and Sam Moss.
Honorary pallbearers are the open-heart unit of ICU of DCH Regional Medical Center, Dr. Ross Vaughn, Dr. Warren H. Holley, Dr. Ford Simpson, Charlotte Caldwell, Mimi Robertson, Shirley Glenn, Melanie Glenn Childress, and residents and employees of Pine Valley Independent Living.
