Funeral services for Doris Goodwin Richardson will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at 11 am at the James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ken McLemore and Brother Herman Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Newton County.
James F. Webb Funeral Home in Newton, 601-683-2152, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Richardson, 80, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired sewing machine operator for the Newton Company and a member of First Baptist Church in Newton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ford Richardson; her son, Kenneth Glen Richardson; her grandson, Keith Richardson; and her parents, John S. and Aline Kelly Goodwin.
Survivors include: her daughter-in-law, Jimmie Sue Richardson of Yazoo City; her grandsons, William Zachary Richardson of Ridgeland and Joshua Wilson Street of Yazoo City; her granddaughter, Sarah Kelly Richardson of Yazoo City; her brothers, James (Barbara) Goodwin of Newton and Teddy Paul (Darlene) Goodwin of DeWitt, NE; her sisters, Peggy Pettey of Lake and Glenda (Leon) Lewis of Gulfport; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Joey Mitchell, David Mitchell, Shannon Lewis, Jimmy Goodwin, Michael Wood, and Dr. John Gipson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jack Crosby, Ed Nester, Baker Hamm, and Frank Owens.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
