Doris Williams Parker
SHREVEPORT, LA -- God looked down from Heaven Monday, March 27, 2006 and chose a rose from his earthly garden, Doris Williams Parker. Services celebrating her life will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Richard Hainey and Bro. Grant Sisson both of Countryside Christian Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home.
Doris was born November 21, 1919. A resident of Shreveport, she was a faithful member of Broadmoor Baptist Church until her health failed. Doris was an inspiration to her entire family and each of them will miss her dearly. The family thanks God for sharing her with them.
Her husband, Douglas Peyton Parker; parents; brothers, Charles and Benton Williams; and sisters, Myrtle Hitt and Lorraine Boggs, preceded Doris in death.
Survivors are her daughter, Dale Wilson and husband, Russell of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Lee Anne Gay of Dallas, TX and Mark Reid Gay and wife, Julie of Waskom, TX; great grandchildren, Alexandra, Krystyn and Parker Gay; brother, John B. Williams of Humble, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Gay, Louis Boudreaux, Travis Whitfield, Grant Sisson, Rick Turner and Charlie Harper.
A special thanks is extended to Juanita Miles and staff at The Terrace of Bossier City, Odyssey Hospice and her good friend, Inez Lorant.
