Dorothy Bell Akers

QUANAH -- Dorothy Bell Akers, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, in Vernon.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Quanah Memorial Park with the Rev. Jason Stidham officiating. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Akers was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Crowell. She married Russell Wayne Akers on Nov. 15, 1941, in Quanah.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Akers of Quanah; two sisters, Theresa Langford of Houston and Nancy Loveless of Wichita Falls; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Quanah Senior Citizens or Quanah Volunteer Fire Department.
