Dorothy Mae Boles

KEITHVILLE, LA -- Dorothy Mae Boles, 69, of Keithville, LA, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, following a lengthy illness.

Services celebrating her life will be held Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Chapel, 200 E. Stoner Ave., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Maj. David Craddock of the Salvation Army. Graveside services will follow at Centuries Memorial Park on Mansfield Rd. Visitation will be held at Centuries Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Mrs. Boles was born August 11, 1938, in Shreveport, LA. and graduated from Bossier High School in 1957. She worked for The Salvation Army for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Margaret Synoground; grandmother, Gertrude Shaw and grandson, Douglas Scott Tarter.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Horace D. Boles of Keithville, LA; 5 daughters, Barbara Tarter of Keithville, LA, Regina Garrett and husband, Donald, Janet Weir and husband, Kevin, all of Shreveport, LA, Wanda Allen of Benton, LA, Tammy Beckham and husband, Mark of Gulfport, MS; 1 son, Roger D. Boles and wife, Pam of Daleville, VA; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; step-father, Mr. O.E. Synoground, Sr.; 1 sister, Gail Howell; 3 brothers, O.E. Synoground, Jr., Larry J. Synoground, Donald R. Synoground; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tony and Jarred Weir, Jesse Brown, Graig Garrett, David and Andy Tarter, Ethan and John Boles.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army Shreveport Corps. in her memory.
