Dorothy Grivette
APRIL 12,1935 - NOVEMBER 19, 2007
Dorothy was born in Redding, California and moved to Ukiah in 1950. In 1951, she married her husband of 35 years (Alfred Louis Grivette). Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker and dedicated her life to raising her children, taking care of her home and family. She loved life and the many people she met, opening her heart and home to those who needed help. Never one to turn anyone away, she always looked for the good in each person she knew, and had only kind things to say about others. Her joy was evident to all who knew her. She was an example for all, showing that kindness to others is what truly matters. Dorothy will be greatly missed by those who were blessed in knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Robert Allen, her mother, Frances Pearl Allen and husband Alfred Louis Grivette.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Allen; her sister in heart, Beverly Moore of Shasta City, California; her children, Michael Grivette, Sharrise Evans, Jerry Grivette, Vickie Stanley, son in law, EJ Evans and daughter in law, Patricia Grivette all of Ukiah. By seven grandchildren; Crystal Shearer of Tigard, Oregon, Joshua Lee Grivette, Joshua Raymond Grivette, Tamara Evans, Jeremy Grivette, Teresa Keffeler and Tanya Evans all of Ukiah, California; Glenn Stanley of Redwood Valley, California and Tasha McGraw of Reno, Nevada. In addition Dorothy also leaves 25 great grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by her brother and sister in-law, Hubert and Anita Grivette of Ukiah, sisters in-law, Helen Caldwell and Janet Grivette of Orville, California, sister in-law, Ruth Weatherly of Santa Rosa, California, sister in-law, Audine Clark of Paradise, California and also many nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, November 25, 2007 between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Eversole Mortuary, 141 Low Gap Road in Ukiah, California. Services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Eversole Mortuary at 1:00 PM; followed by graveside services at Russian River Cemetery, 940 Low Gap Road.
