Dorothy Sue Young
Dorothy Sue Emmons Young, 76, of Powderly, Texas, formerly of Milam, Texas, went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 4, 2019.
Sue was born on December 31, 1942 in Valasco, Texas to William Eual and Alice Lenore (Thompson) Emmons. She resided in the Groveton, Texas area for most of her childhood.
Sue was one of the original founders of “Milam Settlers Day” along with her sister Jeane Thomas. She enjoyed country living and was known for her resourcefulness as well as her sweet heart. She wrote short stories and was an artist as well. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Milam, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Rikki Renae Tubbs and husband Mike of Powderly, Texas; daughter Terri Lynn Gaidusek and husband Tom of West, Texas; her son, Danny Delon Cruchelow and wife Patricia of Longview Texas; her sister Gloria Jeane Thomas of Milam, Texas; grandchildren Holley, Chelsea, Nolan, Brant, Tony and Matt; and seven great grandchildren. She will be missed by extended family, a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
She is predeceased by her parents and the love of her life Vance Lamar Hargrove of Rosevine, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Graveside services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Bethany Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Milam, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.
