Miss Dovie McIntosh Is Buried
Miss Dovie McIntosh of West Blocton, Ala., passed away on Wednesday,
October 15, 1969. Miss McIntosh, a former schoolteacher, was a native and long
time resident of West Blocton. She and her sister Miss Lavella McIntosh owned
and operated the McIntosh clothing store. She had been a member of the Baptist
church for many, many years.
Miss Dovie is survived by three sisters, Mrs. B. O. Stanley, Mrs. S. A. Harris
and Miss Lavella McIntosh all of West Blocton; two nephews and a niece and
countless friends and former students who love her.
The funeral was held at the West Blocton Baptist Church on Friday at 2:00
P.M. with Rev. P. F. McGuire conducting the services assisted by Rev. Jack Cain.
Mrs. M. C. Davie, at the organ, furnished the music.
Pallbearers were the deacons of the First Baptist Church. Burial was at 3:00
P.M. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Jack Lee Funeral Home in Charge.
