Doyle Cody

COLUMBIA (Special) -- Funeral services for Doyle Cody, 60, of Clarks will be held at 10 a.m. today from the Old Bethel Church with the Rev. K. D. Mills officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son of Columbia.

Mr. Cody died Tuesday night in a local hospital after a long illness.

Survivors include Mrs. Pearl Cody of Clarks; a son, Melvin of Alexandria; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Parker of Clarks; Mrs. Margie Caldwell and Mrs. Bobby Hawthorne, both of West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Reitzell of Kelly and Mrs. Hazel Hayter of Fort Bragg, Calif.; a brother, Ernest L. Cody of Bushton, Kan., and seven grandchildren.

Doyle Cody Died Tuesday Night Here

Funeral services for Doyle Cody, 60, of the Old Bethel Community, west of Clarks, were held at 10 a.m. last Thursday from the Old Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. K. D. Mills of Columbia officiating.

Burial was made in the nearby church cemetery under the direction of the Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mr. Cody, who operated a service station in downtown Columbia for many years but retired about two years ago after a heart attack, died Tuesday night in a local hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Cody was for years employed with the now liquidated Louisiana Central Lumber Co. at Clarks and during World War II served on the Caldwell Parish Draft Board.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Pearl Cody of Old Bethel; a son, Melvin Cody of Alexandria; three daughters: Mrs. Mildred Parker, Clarks; Mrs. Margie Caldwell and Mrs. Bobby Hawthorne of West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Reitzell of Kelly and Mrs. Hazel Hayter of Ft. Bragg, Calif.; a brother, Ernest L. Cody of Bushton, Kansas, and seven grandchildren.
