Doyle Dean Conner

Funeral services for Doyle Dean Conner, 79, of Jacksonville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Renfro Memorial Chapel in Boren-Conner Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Jamerson officiating under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Conner died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in a Tyler Hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1928 in Ponta. He lived in the Houston area from 1947 until 1999 when he returned to Jacksonville. He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church. He was retired from Geosource Industries and was an active member of the Farm Bureau, the Texas Forestry Association, the board of Myrtle Springs Cemetery Association and was very involved with the Cherokee County Hay Show.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Dora Conner; and brothers, Bill and Weldon Conner.

Survivors include his wife, Pansy Conner of Jacksonville; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Grace Conner of Sherman; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and James Lister of Jacksonville and Debbie and Frank Baker of Houston; eight grandchildren and eight great-grand children.

Pallbearers will be Douglas McConkey, Hubert Baker, Kyle Smith, Bart Suminski, Pat Conner, Mike Conner and Mike Smith. Nathan Hawthorne will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home in Jacksonville.
