Services for Doyle Pepper, age 80, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2007, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, with Rev. James Prince officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Hebron Cemetery east of Sikes.

Mr. Pepper was born in Sikes on June 3, 1927 to the union of his parents: Kendred E. and Addie Tuberville Pepper, and died Sunday, August 26, 2007, at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. He was a retired sawmill worker and worked with pulpwood for many years. He was an avid gardener and attended the flowers at the nursing home. He was also a member of the Columbia Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law: Laverl and Alice Pepper of Satellite Beach, FL; his nephews: Jeff Pepper and Dewayne Cole; and, his neice [sic niece]: Debbie Atwater.
