Drew Allen Rayner
February 18, 1939 - January 4, 2015

TSGT Drew Allen Rayner (USAF Ret.) “Bud” or “Buddy”, 75 years old, tragically lost his battle with lung cancer on January 4, 2015. He was at his Perkinston home surrounded by his loving family when Jesus came to take him to his eternal home in Heaven. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Drew was born on February 18, 1939 in Ellisville, MS. In 1957, at the age of 18, he graduated from Jones County Agricultural High School. Drew also graduated from Perkinston Junior College in 1965. He then joined The United States Air Force. After serving 20 years in the Air Force, he retired in 1977. He then began a 20 year long career as an electronic engineer for Hughes Aircraft Company based in Fullerton, CA. Drew was given the honor of being the only representative for Hughes Aircraft at Ingalls Shipyard. Drew was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs for many years.

Drew was a member and past Master of McLeod Masonic Lodge in Ocean Springs. He was also a member of the Joppa Shriners in the 1970's and 1980's. He took great pleasure in riding his Harley Davidson in the Joppa Shrine Motor Corps. He also enjoyed fishing and mostly hunting.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother D. A. and Marie (Strickland) Rayner, sister Barbara Drawdy (Charles) of Ocean Springs. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nancy (Bosarge) Rayner, and four children: son Drew Allen Rayner II of Moss Point; daughter Debbie Rayner Callender (H.L.) of Ocean Springs; son Glen Rayner of Ocean Springs, and daughter Robin Rayner Ringl (Frederick) of Perkinston. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Jimmy Strickland (and wife Belva) of Texas, and Bill Rayner (and wife Fran) of California, 2 sisters: Janie Rayner of Biloxi and Shirley Dilts of Laurel. He will be deeply missed by his seven grandchildren, Aaron, Daniel, Will, Gabriella, Gino, Peyton, Alyssa and his many nieces and nephews. He will receive full military honors.
