D. J. Dunn, Survivor of Many Battles, Is Dead

Columbia, La., Feb. 21. -- D. J. Dunn, 77, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home here after a lingering illness. He was a native of Louisiana, and at the outbreak of the war between the states he volunteered, and served from beginning to end and, although, he was in several of the most desperate battles of the war he was never wounded.

Mr. Dunn was engaged in the mercantile business here for several years, and is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Felta [sic Fleta] Dunn, and by nine children, S. W. Dunn, of Waco, Texas; Mrs. Metta DeLaun of Waco, Texas; Mrs. Ethel Gimble, of Millett, Texas; Mrs. Amanda West, of Cotton Plant, La.; Mrs. Olevia May, of Cotton Plant, and D. W. Dunn, Miss Annie Dunn, Gordon Dunn and Hardy Dunn of Columbia.
