Earl “Gus” Atkins
Graveside Services for Earl “Gus” Atkins, 73, of Farmerville, LA, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Zion Hill Cemetery in Farmerville, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville with Rev. Shelby Young officiating.
Mr. Atkins died Saturday May 29, 2004 following a brief illness.
Mr. Atkins was a retired machinist, for International Paper after 37 years of service, he worked in Bastrop and Pine Bluff. He served 4 years in the U. S. Navy on the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard Air Craft Carrier as a Gunners Mate during the Korean conflict.
He is preceded in death by his son Bobby Gill.
He is survived by his wife: Jeanette Crain Atkins of Farmerville, LA; daughter: Debbie Vance and husband Paul of Harrison, AR: sons: Bruce Atkins and wife Ann of Shreveport, LA and Jeff Atkins and wife Donna of Sheridan, AR. brothers: Jack Atkins of Bastrop, LA, and Clifton Atkins and wife Fern of Bastrop, LA; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Steve Atkins, Jim Atkins, Ronnie Atkins, Bill Atkins, Russell Atkins and Gustin Atkins.
Honorary pallbearers are A. J. Smith, J. W. Yeldell, Ronnie Dyck and Hank Rubertino.
The family will receive friends, Monday June 1, 2004 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.
