Earl A. Cockerham
Earl Ardrus Cockerham, 91, of Milford passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 in Waco, Texas. E.A. was born on October 12, 1922 in Ellis County to John and Ludie Cockerham.
E.A. was a retired dairyman and farmer. He was an extremely hardworking man that went above and beyond to both provide for and always be available to his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and mentor and friend to numerous friends and family. He was generous to a fault and loved children beyond comprehension whether they belonged to him or not. His greatest joy in life was supporting and spoiling his grandchildren. E.A. will always be remembered for opening his home to family and friends. E.A. lived each day to celebrate his family, friends and loved ones.
E.A. is survived by his wife Hortencia (Reyna) Cockerham of Milford; son, Kevin Cockerham and wife Janet of Blum; daughters, Kim Rosson and husband E.C. of Milford, and Stephanie Cockerham and John Torrez of Milford; brothers, Leon Cockerham of Itasca, Truman Cockerham and wife Theresa of Ft Worth; sister, Hettie Grantham of Austin; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis and husband Todd, Jacqueline Rosson, Eric Rosson, Ethen Agreda, and Cristian Torrez.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, David Cockerham and Kenny Cockerham; and brothers, J.T. Cockerham and Herman Cockerham.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at The First Presbyterian Church of Itasca. Interment will immediately follow the service at Itasca Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. -- 8:00 p.m. at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home in Itasca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's children's Hospital in his honor.
