Earl Duff

Earl Duff, 78, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mr. Duff retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems in 1985 as an electrician at the Oak Ridge K-25 Site.

He was born in Walker, La., on July 17, 1920, the son of Lura and Richard Edward Duff.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. Duff enjoyed gardening and making handcrafted items and in earlier years he enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Duff; his son, Verdice Duff and his wife, Kathy, of Cookeville; two sisters, Veda Tohline of Jonesboro, La., and Tessie Hall of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren, Kimberly Duff and Matthew Duff, both of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Another sister, Alzire Barnes, died earlier this year.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
