Lt. Col. Earl “Gene” Milam
October 14, 1932 - August 30, 2013

Services for Lt Col Earl “Gene” Milam will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, Alexandria, with Reverend Cliff Stewart officiating.

The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Milam, 80, of Alexandria passed from this life Friday, August 30, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center from West Nile Encephalitis.

He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and was a Levite. He was a graduate of LA Tech and was a Civil Engineer during his working life. He was active with AARP preparing tax returns. Mr. Milam proudly served his country for 26 years in the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam Conflict as a navigator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Frances Louise Dunn Milam; siblings, T. Jeanette Milam, Douglas Milam and Danny Jo Milam.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Brenda Driskill Milam; son, David R. Milam and his wife Ruth; daughter, Lynn L. Milam-Jenkins and her husband Gregory; brother, Walter Milam; sisters, Dorothy Milam, Frances Milam Baxley and Joelene Milam; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
