EARL L. HOWORTH

Earl L. Howorth, 75, 2829 N. Fifth Ave., died Friday at the Jones County Community Hospital following an extended illness.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from Memory Chapel, with burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Graves will officiate.

Mr. Howorth had lived in Laurel since 1930, when he moved to Laurel as a ticket agent for Southern Railway. He was employed with R. H. Boteler and Sons for the past 44 years and was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Laurel Lions Club, serving as past president and secretary, and was a member of the American Legion. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and a charter member of the Highland Baptist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Morris Howorth; one son, Robert Earl Howorth, Pascagoula; two brothers, R. F. Howorth, Hattiesburg, and J. C. Howorth, Wickett, Texas; and one granddaughter, Brandy Leigh Howorth, Pascagoula.

Pallbearers are R. H. Boteler Jr., J. R. Boteler, James A. Ates, Charles O. (Dick) Dickerson, Tommy Wheelis, Dennis Smith, Gene Sheppard and H. D. Castle.

Honorary pallbearers are members of the Laurel Lions Club.

Donations may be made to favorite charities or to the Heart Fund.
